Music

Come on then, we've covered a little of who is in the Bowie corner and who isn't, so as it's pretty quiet round here at the moment, shall we do a bit of musical tastes?
For me music is really important, if I'm having a rubbish day, and I had an epic, doozy of a bad one last week, in the car with the right music on can make all the difference. For me it's got to be loud, guitary and make my heart pound faster. One of the band's I love who I've seen dozen's of times and can't wait to see in April at the Royal Albert Hall, with full concert orchestra are Bring Me The Horizon, they're noisy, angry and very sweary. A bit like me! well I'm not angry so maybe not.
And the first band I saw aged 15 were The Damned. Well past their punk heyday by then but were still good.

It's a no-brainer. There is only ONE band... The Sooty Braden Show Band:

Well it was so obvious, I didn't bother to mention them, goes without saying, seminal stuff.

I make a point of avoiding (ahem) seminal stuff, where possible

Tigerlily 17-01-16 03:56 PM

Oh dear

That said, here is one of my favourite albums. :p:D

Chipper 17-01-16 04:10 PM

Oh dear indeed...lol

Beatles, Bowie, Zeppelin and even Yes (for those old enough to remember) I seem to be stuck in a 60's 70's time warp.....

If you want some fun head bobbing music try "Los Straitjackets". Lots of great guitar and drum work. I call it super sonic surfing music.

Good call, I haven't listened to The Verve in forever, Urban Hymns was such a good album.

Tim come back to us, the year is 2016, and new music is still being made! :D

Its UB40 for me and reggae (old skin head boot boy) but I have got into Northern Soul in a big way now. I have a radio station on called GOLD nearly all times :D

I've never really been a 'music person' but for me three bands stand out - The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Santana. I like classical as well, especially a bit of Wagner, stirring stuff, but you can't beat an evening in an Irish pub with a pint of real Guinness and listening to local musicians belting out the 'diddly dee.' Roll on May, back to Sligo for a week's golf and craic!

It's 2016?? really?? Why wasn't I informed!
