Royal Army Service Corps GRI Cast Badge for ID

Anyone have any ideas on this one? Cast. Clearly once had lugs (this actual badge, not the copied badge). Slider is an old soft solder replacement but looks to have been well used once done. Came in a small collection of GVR and GVIR RASC badges and sweethearts. All the others look genuine. 42 x 38 mm. Best regards, Mike

Isn't the GRI cypher Indian Army?
Cheers,
Alex

There is one like it shown in "Badges of the Empire's Waggoners" in the RIASC section but I think they were locally made with the wrong cypher for the RASC. I like it.

Thanks for replies Alex and Hoot. So a known locally/theatre made badge to the RASC with incorrect cipher, rather than RIASC with incorrect scroll. I really must get a copy of that book! Many thanks, Mike
