Can any one positively id and date this officers buckle please ...thank you steve

A city of London Regiment .....6th possibly?

It's the motto of the City of London - 'God guide us'. As Gryff says, maybe it's a London regiment, or perhaps it's worn by a City of London official during the Lord Mayor's parade or some such.
