Bruno, I'm afraid I do not understand your question. Mike

BAAG formation Sign

Dear Mike,

From your article"Hong Kong Stories and Badges" in Crown Imperial, you had shown one patch (Fig 12) the formation sign of BAAG with a scarlet pimpernel on black. Any chance to obtain one ?

Regards,

Bruno

The actual sign you mention was given to me in the late 1980s by a retired officer (Punjab Regt in WW2 and Int Corps (TA) post-WW2). He kept the other one of the pair that he wore when serving in BAAG China n 1945. A second example was donated by another BAAG veteran, Maj Hugh Wilkinson in December 1976. They do turn up for sale occasionally, but not at a price I would consider affordable! I haven't seen an obvious fake BAAG sign (yet). Mike

Dear Mike,

Have you came up with photo of BAAG personnel that worn this signs ?

Cheers,

Bruno

BAAG Photo

I believe the photo at the bottom of this link is is the only one depicting Lt Col Ride actually wearing the BAAG flash - just visible on his right arm.

Here's one more, possibly taken on the same day at White Cloud Airfield, Canton (Lt Col LT Ride on the right, in beret):
