I think this is Warren Butcher. Looks fine to me with correct slider. He does do a lot of good standard repairs but does not mention anything repaired regards this badge. Regards, Paul.

I have not seen the example under discussion, but, I think for that sort of money I would want a badge in it's original state.

Un/fortunately which ever way you look at it most people couldn't tell if a badge has been repaired, refinished or played around with unless you know what you're looking at/for.

It looks like a very nice example to me.

If any badges have been repaired by Warren you would have difficulty finding
it

Where does it say it’s been repaired? Warren sells good stuff when he has a stall at Bromley.

49lassiepen 11-11-21 05:31 PM

Keith I was not aware that it said repaired , just stating in response to one post
you can't see his repairs -the man to go to Not dealt with Warren for many years .but used to buy frequent from his lists, Also purchased a lot when he sold off/part of his collection Always 100%

Agreed, I have loads for him to do but he’s snowed under. Going back to the badge in question the thread seems to have gone along the lines of assumption it’s been repaired because it’s being sold by Warren.

I can't even find it to look at.

Re post 2- Warren is well known for his good quality repairs and I mentioned that for those who don't know of him, my remarks were not intended to cause doubt over the badge for sale. As stated the badge looks fine to me. Regards, Paul.

It is the exact same badge that hammered at Wallis & Wallis for £160 last month.

A nice badge on which I was the underbidder.

Even after costs a sizeable markup to re-list it at £275.

Just had the slider straightened a bit. Looks to have hatching to the underside edges of the slider, and most of its original finish. Regards, Paul.
