Hey

A friend has asked if I could check with you folk
About this jacket. He isnt sure if the buttons are the right ones as they look to be Kings crown and not of the quality that might go with this jacket?

Any thoughts and age range would be appreciated peeps and this isn't mines :)

It looks like an Officers tunic, shouldn't it have gilt buttons ?

Only officers of line infantry wore regimental buttons at that time, and although they should be gilt the finish could be worn off if not cleaned properly. Other ranks began to receive regimental buttons around 1924 and examination of the makers mark on the rear of the buttons might assist to check the likely period when the buttons were manufactured. The tunic appears to be of post 1902 pattern (so King Edward VII) and for the Lancashire Fusiliers.
