I am quite sure that this is not military at all, but would be grateful if anyone can shed light on this pin badge. Nice enamel badge, marked 'Sterling' on the reverse.

I initially thought of Olympic rings, but then this only has three not five.

Hello Doug,

What you have is a patriotic pin, no military association. The 3 rings of red, white & blue signify the colours of the Union Jack, and the maple leaf signifies Canada. These pins were often produced & worn during the first and second world wars as a symbol of patriotism. It's a beautiful piece of jewellery!
