Hi Peter,

The informed experts say that lugged GDS MG Battalion cap badges are all post war copies. On the obverse the detail is poorly executed rather than worn. Personally not one I would buy as original.

I'm afraid that is the case Peter, the WO defined the badge as ....

"Guards Machine Gun Corps. Badge, cap, WM with vertical shank. Pattern 3220/1917, sealed 28.03.1917." (I'm not sure when the name was changed)

I too think that is a poor copy.
