Norfolk Regt badges

All the Norfolk Regt badges you have I would be happy to have in my collection,
The "all brass" badge dates from 1916 and I think you have a Lambourne badge as well from the Great War.

An outstanding lot of badges and I too would be more than pleased to own them all! Not sure what you mean as a "set" regarding the OSD. If you mean the tone of the bronze, this is not an issue as they were all private purchase and they need not match exactly. The Indian made badges are particularly interesting to me.

Thank you both for your replies
Yes it is a Lambourne I have had it for many years it didn't fit view of what a norfolk badge should look like but it also didn't look like any restrike so I bought it, it wasn't until I joined the forum and found a thread about lambournes I Knew what it was.
The set I don't believe the cap is made by the same firm as the collars the cap's back has a rough almost sandpaper finish and is not voided to the back of the neck and helmet as the collars are.

the next badge date from Second war and post war for some reason beyond me the O/R badge rear will not upload

Great collection, thanks for sharing :)

Without hijacking your thread to much, can you help identify the badge below? I have never got a 100% conclusive answer on it.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi andrew
I looking at your pictures it's not like having it in hand is the finish gilt over bronze and Ican't make out the metal the loops are made of

Nozzer 28-12-20 03:11 PM

So, it is basically a 1916 all GM economy that has been bronzed with the finish being worn from the front. Of course, it is not a 1916 badge as it has never had a shank attached. Sadly, without removing it from display, I can't examine the loops. The picture was taken a few years ago.

I have a picture of a lad wearing what looks to be a C/4/NORFOLK title. I can't get my scanner to work at present, but when I do I will show it.

Neil s 28-12-20 03:37 PM

I think andrew you are in a similar position to I was with the Lambourne you know what it is not, but not what it is, bronzed should be officer but it's the wrong pattern I know there is more than one pattern of economy but in the picture it appears to be a much better quality strike than my example my question about the lugs was because I was thinking it might have been a bit earlier than 1900. All of which means I don't really know.

Neil s 28-12-20 03:43 PM

That would be excellent I am happy with the construction of the C/5 but if a C/4 existed why not a C/5
