Did you know that there 2 types of OR's brass badges? it was mainly the lugs that were different, one had the lugs "East - West" and the other had the lugs "North - South" this , we were told was to show the difference between the beret badge and the slouch hat badge , the 'north - South" was for the slouch hat. Though i have seen either worn on berets and slouch hats, the lugs were not carried over to the "staybrights" they had the pins "east - West".
