I found this near Bishopbriggs, site of RAF Bishopbriggs.
I’m not sure if it’s WW2 or WW1. Argyll & Sutherland cap badge.

As solid-non voided, it could well be an early badge, even pre Great War. Regards, Paul. PS you are building a nice collection of dug badges. If you intend to keep them that's fine, but if you are looking to sell them and are after information to do so, please mention it, as some new posters overlook that forum rule. Best wishes, Paul.

Wow that could be old then.
Regarding collecting. I would like to build a collection. In Scotland we are obligated to submit anything of historical value to Treasure Trove, a branch of Historic Scotland for their appraisal. Unfortunately if they want to keep it they can.
If I do get to keep them I’ll probably display them in a box or something.
I’ve not been detecting long and I’ve got 3 nice examples already. Happy days.

I thought you were going to give a Wiltshire/ Salisbury Plain location where much training happened. You might need to research at a museum or library to find out military activity in the areas you search-or info from other detectorists. Regards, Paul.
