ATS India

I am wondering if the ATS in India during WW2 wore a unique cap and/or collar badge, or did they just wear the standard ATS insignia?

Thanks,

Terry

Do you mean ATS members or members of the Womens Auxiliary Corps (India) ?.

The ATS did not reach India until late in the war, India asking for volunteers in May 1945.

As far as is known they wore the standard cap badges.

In November 1945 it was noted that the only British troops permitted to wear the bush hat - Officially described as Hats, Gurkha - were the ATS. The photo shows it worn by a party of them.
