1901-52

More likely 1923 to 1952 as in 1923 the Royal Marine Artillery and Royal Marine Light Infantry amalgamated to become the 'Royal Marines'. Prior to 1923 the two branches had their own individual design of button.

Was C & J Weldon still producing by the 1920's?

Edit: a quick check indicates that C & J Weldon operated 1850's - 1910's.
No additional Artillery or Light Infantry wording on the button?

According to my records 'C & J Weldon London' can be found as a backmark on buttons dating long after the 1920s.

Interesting, I referred to print outs of button collectors web site info, stating they'd ceased production by then, so perhaps hardly definitive sources.
