Royal Dragoon Guards Pipers
 

Hi Guys,

Here's a picture of a couple of Royal Dragoon Guards Pipers.

Am looking for a plaid brooch that they wear on their left shoulder.

Would anyone also happen to have a close up picture of one?

That could well be another one. The pics I posted came from the RDG Pipes and Drums FB page.

Circular plaid brooch with central Jewel is possibly worn by the senior piper(s) or the Pipe Major. The other as in posts 1 and 2 is a Tara brooch.

Hi Mick, This is taken a few years ago but shows both the pipers and the pipe major in close up, the Tara brooch looks the same as the Royal Irish Regiment pipers wear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLBeQ97iaKg regards John

These come up for sale occasionally but you have to look for Tara Brooch, not Plaid Brooch.

I agree that the RDG Tara brooch looks to be the same as that worn by pipers of the Royal Irish Regiment.
