hi all

Hi,
All of them Indian Army cap badges WW1 to 1930's I believe. Clay |
3rd Madras Regiment is one of the "large" regiments formed in 1922. Disbanded in 1938. Re-raised in 1941. This badge in use until 1945.
17th Dogra Regiment is one of the "large" regiments formed in 1922. Re-designated The Dogra Regiment in 1945. Transferred to the Indian Army in 1947. Badge valid until 1950 when India became a republic. I do not think the Manipur Rifles is (or ever was) part of the (British) Indian Army. At present it seems to be part of the Manipur Police. BTW, I assume they are all cap badges, Collar badges were not much in use in the sub-continent. |
thanks guys
interesting they are cap not collar badges thanks for the replies bc |
The Manipur Rifles is likely a post war badge and is more police oriented.
Indian badges are often very small and frequently mistaken for collar badges. CB |
thanks CB
