Royal Regiment of Scotland Dress Regs (Part 2)
See the link below for Part 2 (Pipes & Drums + Regimental Military Band) of the Royal Regiment of Scotland (SCOTS) dress regulations.
Can any forum members with issues regarding how some of these items of dress are funded please keep their opinions to themselves. I am sharing this as a reference tool for collectors not to open up a debate on the aforementioned. Thank you! :) https://bit.ly/2MkA1nB |
Dress Regs
Des,
thanks very much for this. First time I've seen what plaid brooches the Royal Regiment of Scotland is actually supposed to wear. Nice to see that some of the regimental traditions are continuing. Means I still have a few pipers badges to find. Ian H |
Some great images.
I wonder if the pipe majors of 2 and 4 Scots have to have a certain size bicep to allow for the size of the arm badges ? |
Interesting there are no regulations for Balaklava Coy and 6 SCOTS

A very interesting and well made presentation on the dress Regs. Thanks for sharing.
I must remark that some of the feather bonnets pictured look just a bit wonky, or could that be attributed to photo cropping? The style of wear on all headgear today is different than the old days, when Glens and bonnets were worn cocked to the side of the head. I also note that some are still wearing the older short hair sporrans of the 60s and 70s. The latest sporrans have returned to a longer style; albeit too long on shorter soldiers. Certainly the variety and appearance is improved by the return to scarlet doublets and feather bonnets for the drummers. CB |
Royal Regiment of Scotland Dress Regs (Part 2)
Very nice set of Dress Regulations. Thanks for sharing. I wonder what other Regiments have something similar out there to be found.
