Well I just could not resist! So now I am asking for help on this badge!!? It is a very high quality badge, two piece construction - however - It is a stamped badge, The chute is "fire-gilt" (possibly). The detail is very good, even the pebbeling on the scroll is crisp and even. So what do the experts out there say (I am NOT a knowledgeable person on Airborne - Signals maybe but not Airborne)
Thanks
Larry

Hi Larry,

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but what you have is not correct. The officer's cap badge has the parachute in silver and the rest in brass....yours has the metals reversed...

I understand that these badges came out of the UK. There has been discussion on other threads ref a gilding metal badge and a white metal badge. These badges are larger than the genuine Canadian Parachute Corps badge and may have been used to make the bi-metal badge that Larry has.
Do not discount the badge as a restrike/reproduction. There is evidence to suggest that these may have been made towards the end of the war.

Hi LLWill,
Unfortunately I have to agree, what you've shown us is not an authentic badge. You may want to check my buyer's guide on e-Bay, as your specific badge is discussed there. The address is http://reviews.ebay.com/Buyer-s-Guid...00000003506743.
Don't feel too badly, although I have 3 Canadian Parachute Corps badges, only one which is circa 1977 is righteous. I got that out of depot stores through the CWO who was then curator of the Canadian Airborne Museum which was located in Edmonton, along with a maroon beret, during a visit to the museum.
