I wonder if it was a 'bar' , possibly "Committee" or "Ladies Section" but I've not seen that type of attachment before ?

Possibly WWI overseas service chevrons in gilt and red and / or blue enamel.
|
Ww1 makes sense as it was in a box with ww1 medals that was pasted onto me. As for what went on it ??
|
I don't have any sweetheart badges with overseas chevrons attached, other members of the forum do (I think Tigerlily has a RA one), a Google search will show some examples.
On some the the chevrons are attached to the badge by an articulated fitting in order to lessen the risk of breakage. |

They're nice little items.

May sound daft but what are they called ? As I need to find the cheron now.
|
The actual overseas service chevrons worn on uniform are cloth, the year 1914 represented by a red chevron, the following war time years by blue ones.
The sweetheart could have a single red or a single blue or combination of single red and multiple blues, or just multiple blues, depending on hwhich and how many years service overseas are represented. |
Ok thanks for that I'll have a look about.
