RAF early red eagle patches
 

Hi all,

I have recently acquired the middle eagle as shown in the attachment. It is a bit of a head scratcher to me. Having a wool background would suggest a first issue but it is much lighter than the top 1918 known version; the design seems to place it a bit later though.

The bottom one is the standard type tropical 1920/30's type. Could be non RAF but it looks right for that service.

An image of the rear of the patches is also attached.

Any comments most welcome.
