CD Control Intelligence Officer Brighton

The attached extract from Brighton's Warden's Bulletin of December 1940 refers to the appointment of a Control Intelligence Officer to the Borough.
A bit of a long shot but has anyone seen an example of the CIO lettered armband referred to? Jon |

Now that is VERY interesting as it may help to explain a helmet marking. As we know, the guys in the South had a tendancy to go their own way re helmet markings....
I assumed this helmet might be Chief Incident Officer BUT it lacked the tell-tale Cambridge Blue always linked to IO roles......and the paperwork mentions a white armband...and this is a white helmet......??? Sorry for butting in with a Helmet-related possibility.......but this is soooooo exciting (when one's got nowt else to do on a wet October morning!!) |
A classic example of the value of this Forum. Glad to have helped solve a mystery.
