George V royal canadian artillery question ??

Hey :)

So I have a question about a button

It is George V and it has Royal Canadian Artillery on it and it is a ball button :)
So my question is was this only in existence from 3rd june 1935 until january 1936 when George v died ???
I cant see any others online so wondered is this why because there arent many about

Thanks

Hi T X, The Royal Canadian Artillery is a bit complicated. There was a permanent force Royal Canadian Artillery, from 1893 and the militia, the Canadian Artillery from 1895 until 1935. The button you have is likely for the permanent force. At least three variations of the G V button were worn. As a ball button, it is likely worn by the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery.

This helps explain the history :

The official lineage of The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery
