looking for info on 12th Field Ambulance Corps...

Hello all,
Might anyone have anything on K75586 J. R. Noyes, 12th Field Ambulance Corps, RCAMC? WW2 period I believe? |
Hi Mark, yes the bracelet is Second WW era. The K prefix indicates he enlisted in MD 11 (British Columbia and Yukon). The serial was un-allotted infantry. No 12 Fd Amb was on the order of battle for 4 Canadian Armoured Division.

Hi Mark
I can add that.... Quote:
JR Noyes does not appear in the war dead or medals and decorations list at Library and Archives Canada. Interestingly, there was a Frederick Walter Noyes who wrote about 5th Field Ambulance in the Great War.:) regards Darrell |
Thanks Bill & Darrell... interesting unit background! Can you suggest a Canadian resource where service details might be found?

Hi Mark
Unless there was a 12th Fd Amb history published, I can think of no resource. His service file will be available to you on request from Library and Archives Canada (LAC) but will be heavily redacted for personal info UNLESS you can prove (grave photo, Obit) he has been dead 20 years or more, then you will get an unredacted file. Look here under Restricted Records: https://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discov...roduction.aspx I had a look through Nicholson's RCAMC history but his name does not come up. Newspaper archives, Funeral home obits, etc may help if you can nail down a forename. No JR Noyes in Legion Last Post either. Good luck. regards Darrell |
