Help with FFY cap badges

Hi all,

I've been scouting for a WW2 period Fife & Forfar Yeomanry cap badge for some time now, but after reading all the threads on this here forum and consulting literature I've actually grown more and more insecure on what type of badge to stay clear of, since I understand there's a lot of different variations and fakes out there.

If some more experienced collectors on here could shed some light on the matter that would be much appreciated.

Also,
The Regimental/Formation flash seen worn by 2nd FFY (yellow and red cross on blue backing), as I understand it, this was worn on both arms?

Cheers

Alan O has one with WW2 provenance here which should help: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...8&d=1203092420 . Notice the little flowers in the grass.

Good morning all and thanks for your replys.

Luke H, the one you posted a picture of sure looks neat, it's my understanding that there were a lot of different variations during the war with different makers etc. did they all have flowers to the base? I know the flowers is a good sign, but curios if there were other variants.
Then there's the question regarding which parts that are "supposed" to be voided, one picture shows three troopers from 1st FFY in 1945 all sporting cap badges with voided reins, other earlier pictures seems to show cap badges much like the one you posted, I'm assuming makers variations?

oc14 I saw that you sold yours, I guess I have to be quicker next time :D

Sonofacqms Definitely interested in yours, I'll PM you.
