South Bucks Yeomanry Lancers, 1863-1871.
More commonly known as the Taplow Lancers. Backmark is Kirby Aldersgate St London, can't find any information on this maker unknown to me.

I looked through Naylor's Military Button Manufacturers 1800-1899 from the London Directories but nothing in there not even Aldersgate.

Hi All,

Not a manufacturer that I was aware of either. A quick look at Google would seem to indicate that he was a Tailor rather than a button manufacturer.

Google shows this entry in the London Gazette:

https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/.../4150/data.pdf

2302. Thomas Freeston Kirby, of Aldersgate street, in the city of London, Merchant Tailor, for an invention of " improvements in garments for gentlemen and ladies' wear."—Dated 15th August, 1862

There is also this transcript from the Old Bailey, where an employee stole cloth from Mr. Kirby's premises in Aldersgat-street in May 1863.

He is also shown in the London Commercial Directory of 1852 as :

Kirby Thomas Freeston, tailor, 13 1/2 Aldersgate street
