Still none the wiser as to why my road was crawling with ‘polis’ earlier, but the nice lady I chatted to at the Fire Service demo in Falkirk yesterday not only kept her promise of getting me an old badge, she delivered it in person! Really chuffed and grateful. She also included a helmet decal.:)
Both were worn until the amalgamation of all the Scottish Fire Services into a national force on 1st April 2013 (although from the look she gave me when I mentioned the problems with the unification of the regional police forces at the same time I gather all is not well with the fire service either).

Regardless, a free badge is still a free badge, and one I will treasure - especially as it looks like we are in for a very wet weekend (hey, it is Scotland).;)
