Hello All,
Comments welcome on this badge to the Shanghai Volunteer Corps Shanghai Light Horse.
It has quite long lugs so I presume it is a hat badge. (It is same size as that in Renfrew's book, Fig.974). The group photo shows only the officers wearing collar badges which are possibly the same size.

Hi John,

Looks good, just like mine, Sorry I don't have a photo for you. Mine is thin silver no markings medium length lugs and toned, made by a shanghai jeweler of which I can't immediately recall . I didn't want to polish it and soften the detail.

The cap badges and the collar badges were of the same size. The locally made ones were usually by HC (Hung Chong) a Shanghai Silversmith who made many of the local Shanghai badges.
I have attached a photo of the Shanghai Light Horse pouch plate and a photo of a selection of SVC buttons including the Shanghai Mounted Rangers and the Shanghai Light Horse (two on the bottom left)
