Thank you Gerard and Jerry, I had my suspicions, thanks for confirming with your superior knowledge. Another one for my brimming duds pot.
Best regards,
Jim.

Hello Gerwyn, Queen’s crown Parachute Regt in white metal and anodised aluminium had sliders , not my main collecting area but I don’t think any Kings crown badges had sliders.

Hello Gerard

Thank you for replying to my request.

The reason I asked, I have a all brass one, which to me looks and feels good, but I'm no expert, still learning.

Gerwyn

Hi Gerwyn,
see this post here https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...73&postcount=5
QC Para badges being introduced from 1953, it is unlikely that KC badges would have been converted from lugs to sliders to accommodate the new type of beret (issued in 1955) with a backing pocket for the badge.

Yes there are original post WW2 KC badges on sliders, see the below thread…

https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=74257

The AA KC is a fantasy badge.

Your brass KC slidered badge will invariably be fake unless it was originally a lugged plated example.

Hi Pierre

Thank you for your help with this, and for your link.

There is no stamp on the slider of mine, but like I said, it feels and looks good, but I'm no expert.

Will have to post a photo of it.

Regards
Gerwyn

Hi Luke

Thank you for the link, but there was a problem when I opened it, it came with a ebay search.

Hello Jim,
Several experts from the forum have provided extensive guidance on the regimental cap badge of the Parachute Regiment. Over time, and with their permission and encouragement, I've compiled an article incorporating their expertise on the subject. You may want to glance at the following;
