Royal Surrey Regt and East Lancashire Regt - Anodised

Hi Guys,

If anyone has either The Royal Surrey Regiment or The East Lancashire Regiment cap badges in anodised aluminium especially if by Smith and Wright then can they contact me on

hagwalther AT gmail DOT com

There are aspects of these badges that I wish to discuss.

Chris,

When you say Royal Surrey - do you mean East or West or Queens Royal?

Hi Guys,

I will get hold of you via an email later.

Alan, I think my badge is just named as the Royal Surrey Regt but will check later.

Chris,

if it is a gold lamb then it is west surreys, if it is a gold lamb on a silver star then it is the TA Queens Royal Surreys ( 1960 amalgamation of the east and West Surreys). The East Surreys has the title scroll with its name on.

Chris,

All 3 badges are in your album already - just use the refernce number and I will look it up.

As an aside I don't think that I82 Monmouths is right by the way - I think the Bn was long gone by the time a/a badges came about and it is the Monmouth School badge. I have emailed the museum and will let you know if they reply with a disbandment date.

Hi Alan,

Looking for I63 Royal Sussex and I14 East Lancs.

I mignt have stuffed up here re: Royal Sussex.

re: Monmouths 2nd battn - I have a sealed pattern date and related documentation that the badge was intended for used by this Batn in anodised form. As you say, long gone and then used by the school.

As such, I will still have to account for it in my 'manufactured but never issued' group.

As per classification groups - I'm going to be taking a totally different approach to the common and previously used Cavalry, Yeomanry, Infantry method.

Pretty sexy eh!

Regards

Chris
