Hi all,

Is this the 7th Foot glengarry badge worn 1874-1881 as per K&K 429 or a copy there of.

It is GM with GM loops mid-north to south and some appearance of grinding to remove perhaps excess metal along the base of the ball. Looks semi-cast.

Opinions appreciated, regards Dean.

Hello Dean,

My opinion counts for nothing but personally I would like the lugs to be central to the flames and the bowl of the grenade, if not E/W on the flames ??

My example is the Victorian version ( small flames ) so cannot be used to compare them ??

I'm probably wrong but then again I nearly always am lol

Dave.

Thanks Dave,

I think you are pretty right on here - my QVC and WM versions have lugs across the flames E-W and I was a little perturbed about this badge for that reason. I also worried as was a cheap find on a London market .

I felt like a tourist and probably acted like one !

See you soon hopefully, cheers Dean.
