Hi everyone. My name is Caroline and I am new to all of this. I’m currently doing an ancestry check. I have come across a picture of my great great grandad in a military uniform which I have no clue about. Can anyone help me identify it? He was born in 1866 and died in 1908 if that helps. Please see attached. Any help would be gratefully received 😊

He's in The Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, a Volunteer or Territorial Force battalion.

He is a long serving Sergeant in a Volunteer Battalion of the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. If you know where he lived I could narrow it down to a specific Battalion. Regards

Hi simon 😊 thank you so much for this information. I believe he lived in Cornwall for most of his life.

A well fed chap as well! Many of these old timer territorial NCOs seem to have been.
