Hello all,

Hope this works. Here is an officer's glengarry badge of the 5th Royal Highlanders of Canada. This type of badge worn circa 1906-20s.

This example was made by MacDougall's - London.

One of my favourites.

Will add more tomorrow if I get this to upload correctly!

Cheers,

Adam

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the comments, I am glad you enjoyed seeing the badge. More to follow...

As for the manufacturer. I may have typoed and think it is actually McDougall's (vs Mac) of London, England.

I don't know much about them, only that they were very high-end jewellers/badge manufacturers that specialized in highland regiments. There are varieties of WWI CEF badges to various battalions made by them that I have seen. They are very difficult to come by as they were quite expensive and thus, privately commissioned/purchased items.

I'd be interested to know about other badges members may have (or have seen) made by them. I'll see if I can track down any in old catalogues etc.

Cheers,

Adam

I thought I would add some photos of the reverse to show the construction and the maker's mark.

I was right...it's MacDougall's - London.

For your viewing pleasure.
