Unknown qualification badge

Hello,

I picked this up in a brocante in Brussels last week and just wondered what it is; It sort of looks like the British trade badges I've seen, but is very possibly a post-war Belgian army badge.

Can anyone let me know what it is (I assume some sort of driving proficiency?) and, hopefully, how old it is?

Thanks!

Driver (mechanical transport) An arm badge of a formalised steering wheel was introduced in 1925 to be worn on the left forearm. The 1st prize grading of the award also included an embroidered crown. Worn at first only by the Royal Army Service Corps, in 1927 the use was widened to include Artillery-men. In wartime the "prizes" were discontinued but the badges were now worn for "skill-at-arms". About 1950 this badge was discontinued and the star worn by the Royal Tank Corps 1st class driver in 1936 became the trade badge for all drivers.

Read the thread and whilst browsing a book found in junk shop yesterday saw the above description. the "star" in question is a 5 pointed (white?) with black-line from each point converging to centre of star, all on a round cloth backing possibly Khaki?

Hope this helps, all the best billy
