Your Thoughts Please
Gentlemen, I am pretty sure the Artist Rifles badges are bad after reading through the recent threads, but maybe I'll get lucky.
I don't know about the Post Office Rifles or the Royal Ulster Rifles. I got these badges about 20 years ago, and am not planning on selling them, but would like to know for sure. https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds Also first time I've ever seen numbers like this on a slider so have no idea what they are? Thank you, Terry |
Terry IMO the Post Office and RUR are OK.

Could be substituted to replace a lost '1' or '7" but if you give a squaddie a hammer and bits of metal you gets what you gets. Recently there have been a number of dubious badges turning up on ebay (of all places, would you believe it?) with numbers applied to sliders as an indication of "authenticity". |
Thank you gentlemen!

The Artists on the far right might stand a chance, but the reverse needs to be seen of course.

CB, Here's a picture of the reverse of the badge that was on he far right. Of the three I will be happy if one is good.

While I am not particularly familiar with this badge (among the worst designs in the panoply of British badges in my opinion :p), the slider does not look very good.
I am sure others can confirm however. CB |
Thanks CB. What concerned me was the eyes, and of course the nose on the middle one. I can see it being a artsy design, and does seem to lack an Empire look.
