Monmouthshire Regt. officer badge

Another badge which I have had for awhile, this is I think a bit unusual in that it appears to be an officers silvered badge with slider.
Note that it is not die struck, but rather like some OSD badges. It is very fine quality.

Very nice - there are a number of silver officer's badges with sliders.
They often fitted into a "socket" in the cap - see Denis Wood's Fighting Fifth / badge book

Hardly helpful, I know, but I have a "Buffs" silvered slidered badge that came fitted to an officer's forage cap.

Well, this confirms my growing suspicion that officer badges fitted with sliders are not particularly uncommon after all.
Actually, I have a total of three officer badges with sliders.
I must say that from much of any distance, the Buffs and Brecknockshire are virtually indistinguishable.
