I wonder if someone could help me identify these. If I have listed these before my apologies. some may not even be British & if not I am not interested in them.

Ray, the first one is for the Northern Ireland District.Used until 1943. The fourth one is for the NORTHAG (Northern Army Group) created November 1952,disbanded June 1993.

Number 2 and Number 5 are also unidentified in 54Bty album!

Number 1 (Northern Ireland District) is said to be a pun on "nest" = NID (French for nest)!
Number 3 looks more like a School Badge
Number 4 NORTHAG is a design based on an ancient battleaxe found during construction in the early 1950s of the Joint HQ at Rheindahlen near Moenchengladbach in West Germany.

Thanks Acorn,I see someone else is looking too, I guess ther aren't all in the books. I collect pictures of British WW2 formation signs from all over patches or decals. Some I get from ebay & they are wrongly named or not named at all. so its a long drawn out battle. I do have the acorn identified however. Ray

The last one is US. Either an uncataloged version of the Maine State Guard early WW2 or a CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) camp insignia. There is virtually no reference on CCC insignia. I do however have a early 1930's US Army officer 4 pocket tunic with that formation sign on it. No positive identification has been made yet.

The second badge, a diamond with three loggerheads, look as if it should be Shropshire related. It doesn't feature in Westlake as TA arty related, so could be a school or Boy Scouts/Guides.

Stephen.
