During WW2 the Regiment was known as the 8th Princess Louise's (New Brunswick) Hussars. In 1957 this was changed to the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's) The badge pictured is the post '57 pattern.

This pattern of badge has been discussed a couple of times on the Forum. Other threads, http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...nadian+hussars and http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...nadian+hussars
The badge appears to be a post war example.

DID YOU EVER SEE THIS PNE WITH THE METALS REVERSED.
I got one from Ed Denby one day & mentioned it to him & he almost took my hand off taking it back.

The badge with the metals reversed is an officer's badge and should be silver on gilt.

I have seen a WW2 picture of a soldier wearing that badge, can't remember if it was an officer or not but I think it may have been. It was entered on a forum to prove a point. the very point entered here. Can't say more.
