Two to identify
 

Hello folks,
I would welcome comments on identity and authenticity of these two badges please.

I would suggest Niger for the second although I can find no evidence to support this, just the style of the sunburst reminds me of Niger police insignia.

The badge on the right, I can't remember exactly what it is, para-commando or similar, Israeli Golani Brigade.

Edit: a check of "Historama" site shows the badge as Sayeret Golani (Golani [infantry brigade] Reconnaissance) unit circa. 1970's-80's, the unit being now known as GadSar Golani (Gdud Siyur Golani - Golani reconnaissance battalion).

Looks like Leigh has it for the second badge:

Thank you for your help Leigh and Graham, excellent work, that wraps one of them up. I am still looking to identify the bugle or horn, I am wondering if it has an American connection, I am not sure if it has been repaired with fixing wires to the rear or originally had lugs or not.

I'd be surprised if the bugle horn were American. They don't seem to have taken in the tradition which associates Light Infantry / Chasseurs / Jagers with hunting horns. The style looks French/Belgian/Dutch to me.

That's a great shout with the Golani badge

Although the bugle does have an American look to it, I agree, I have never seen an American bugle badge with the cords. Here are a couple of pictures of those used during he ACW, and were still in use during the Indian Wars that followed. My ACW/Indian Wars bugle bugle has small, thin square shaped loops on the back (see first picture). The cap is a forage cap, but was worn the same on the kepi as well.

Could the bugle / horn badge be band related ? I've not seen many regiment bugles with tassles

OK, that seems right. I have never seen won like that, but it is a smaller version than the one I have. I also feel the insert is very probably separate from the bugle. The mounting pins also seem right. I also believe it is just an infantry bugle as that was the symbol for Union infantry at the time. Musicians would have worn the same, but with lace on their dress tuni.If vintage would be worth a good $75-$100 USD, if not more.

Wow gentlemen, I am more than impressed with the response. Thank you all for your input. Would it be safe to say I can mark this bugle horn up as a U.S. army civil war, union infantry cap badge worn on the Kepi hat, circa 1861 - 1865 ?

Jfenzy1, I think you can assume that. To be sure can you tell me how big it is, as that might be helpful too. But the wire fasteners are like ones I see on similar badges at our annual ACW show.
