Hi this arrived within a group of badges recently acquired, is it a good one? and for peace of mind the value of it where I to purchase it alone?

Lugs look good badge has a natural age to it BUT!! This badge is so faked / Copied, I can only hope its a good one? Your thoughts on this appreciated! Many thanks Billy

Billy,

The poor quality of what should be a quality pre-1908 badge would make me think, no, its not a good one. Thats my hunch, others may disagree.

regards

Right side of crown, as you look at it looks wrong.

Standard fake I believe.

This is mine which I’m certain is real.

Thank you all for your help, a lot of these around and lugged rather than the slider as shown! All the best billy

Billy, real ones come with loops too. I’ve seen more DIY badges looped than slidered in fairness but continuing to 1908 sliders are always a possibility in some cases (MIY, Middlesex IY, Ayrshire IY etc). In a few cases wear of the IY badge went beyond 08 even into WW1. Problem with Yeomanry is there’s no hard fast rules, they very much did their own thing.
