New South Wales Lancers - bullion field service cap badge 1890s

Hi All,
Here's an exceptionally rare badge. A New South Wales Lancers bullion field service cap badge circa 1890s. The only one I have ever seen. Attributed to LTCOL Sulman of the NSW Lancers and now on display in the Lancer Barracks Museum. Enjoy! Mick |
Very nice indeed!
Am no uniform aficionado but is it not technically a torin? Happy to stand corrected as the man in the orthopaedic shoes said. |

Either way a super rare badge and cap. Mick |
Thanks for showing that Mick, the whistle belt plate looks awesome too.

Very nice Mick, they did lovely work in those days.
I note the scarlet backed badge on the slouch hat behind it too. Just a shame we're not allowed to wear badge backings these days (for all Corps), they would look awesome now the badge is worn on the puggaree. Keith |
Ahh, just read your second post and it isn't a scarlet backing, the whole badge is cloth :o

Yes mate - they are certainly very well made.
Their full dress uniform is quite spectacular. The museum is a small one but worth a look. Open on Sundays. Mick |
Now that's a stunner of a badge!
