There is something not quite right with this badge imo. The slider looks to be modern where as the badge has traces of the OTC title on it and the stipling may have been done with a hammer and punch. When the OTC converted to a JTC circa 1940 a JTC version was produced so the erased scroll is odd but could date from 1940 but that does not match the slider.

Either way £35 is a lot.

Hi Alan,
Yes, I have to agree with you! This badge looks awful and appears to be artificially aged i.m.o to look bronze (but very badly).
The front also appears to have been smothered in brasso never a good sign!
The slider looks to be a Firmin one from the 1970's?
This is quite a scarce badge but I think I would keep my money in my pocket until a better one came along with lugs.
Regards
Colin

I can't prove it, but as the JTC version exists, (and the 'J' seems to be from a modified OTC die), I suspect the blank scroll version is post 1948.

This would be badge for the CCF with the die modified to completely erase the original OTC/JTC title.
