The pictured cap badge is the post-war issue, prior to becoming the Lake Superior Scottish Regiment.
The wartime badge is illustrated in Mazeas (M172) and Tripp, and is bi-metal, without a crown. I do not have an image handy.

Phil

PS: My apologies...M172 is your badge.

Hello Patrick, The LSR cap badge that you have illustrated is fairly common. The Forum has an example of the WW2 era badge on the Canadian Badge Registry. Lake Superior Regiment

Any chance of taking the badge back? Or, if you can't take it back, at least talk about it with the vendor?

Hi Bill A, How long was that badge worn, I know the one with the word Scottish is very common & current, but I don't see this one that often any more. Ray

Hello Ray, Sorry I can't be definite on the time period. The LSR's became the LSSR in 1949. The badge should date from 1945 until 1949 period, but I don't have the exact time or authorities.

Thanks a lot guys in helping me.I have the badge now for sale because i only collect WW2 badges.

Can we put his thread in the INFANTRY section? The LSR/LSSR was never cavalry/armoured; the closest they came was their role as the motorized infantry battalion in th Armoured Brigade. "Ashcan cavalry" at best.
