Glider wings
Even during WW2 very few nations invested in assault gliders. The British, Germans and US all had and used military glider pilot units. Even large countries such as Canada, Australia and India didn’t have glider pilot units.
I cannot see a country such as Oman investing in such a unit. It is far more likely that the wings are civilian and awarded at an internationally approved level for such as solo or carrying passenger levels. Obviously can’t prove any of the above, but I have seen the central symbol used in other glider wings. Ian H |

SOAF Glider Pilot Regiment
I really love the idea of a Sultanate of Oman Glider Pilot Regiment. I imagine that such a unit would have a heavy lift capability to permit Combat Camels to be carried?
