City of London Bullion Badge
 

This is a beautiful gold bullion badge with Kings Crown.

Deeply padded and measuring 78mm x 50mm its quite large.

Someone elsewhere suggested an HAC connection?

Anyone any ideas please?

I've been after one of these :) Worn by the likes of the mayor etc. I forget exactly but I recognise it from my wants list.

It isn't HAC related.

Possibly something to do with a "LORD LIEUTENANT OF THE CITY OF LONDON".

Bonhams sold a c1837-1840 uniform , description includes ;

"large ornate tail ornaments being the crown over a circular strap 'Domine Dirige nos' and enclosing the Arms of the City Of London, constructed of gold and silver lace red velvet and blue silk."

Thats the one, its a sheriffs badge, I think smaller KC versions worn on the epaulette. If memory serves.
