Dear all,

Who can help to identify the patch of BP DND?
Does it relate to British Petroleum, or was it worn by the RCAF ?
Any background information is welcome
Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Fred

I would guess it is an RCAF training school jacket patch due to the plane on it being a T-6 Texan, which was an advanced trainer in WW2. These types of patches were usually a PX buy.

Thank you Terry.

By the way, what does "PX buy" stand for ?

Kind regards,
Fred

Fred, I am in the US and PX is the acronym used for an Army "Post Exchange", or kind of like a little shop of both military and non-military bits at lower prices than commercially available - think of a NAFFI store. But only active or retired service personnel are allowed access on most posts. On Air Force bases they are called "Base Exchange" or BX.

I believe they are called PRI in the UK.

Hope this answers your question, but if not let me know.

A novelty patch like that would be sold in the PX/BX and at the time would probably be a very popular item.
