A beauty, Mick, but an odd bod -- it definitely doesn't conform to the regulations for LH mess dress jackets, which were supposed to be maroon with blue collars and cuffs and maroon shoulder straps.

I've seen others this colour as well - from memory on the AWM site there is a picture of a 1900 to 12 period QMI mess dress uniform that is this colour.
