COTC collection
 

Trying to finish off my 39-53 cotc collection. I think i am only missing the small version of osgoode hall. Does anyone know of others i am missing?

I think i could include officer candidate school and the royal nfld regiment in this as well.

Hello Oliver. The Sir George Williams badge is the post 1953 pattern. (Splitting hairs a bit, the badge was authorized in 1953, but not issued until later.)

COTC Collection
 

I am also working on a COTC collection.

The officer candidate school is out for me; R NFLD Regt is in, as candidates did wear the badge as part of the Memorial U COTC contingent. I also include the English and French military college badges in my grouping.

You have a nice collection, with some rare badges.

Missed the OCS part. The Officers Canadidate School was granted permission to acquire the cap badge when it was organized in 1951. Initial order, by local purchase, was from Caron Bros. Toronto.

Can anyone tell me if this is an officer's badge?

Does the badge have a flat back?

Hi Clive, On the face of it, the badge appears to be a standard COTC issue. Not an officer's badge.

Chris Brooker does list an officers badge in his COTC book stating it has this finish and a flat back on it, but he does not incude a picture of the badge

Came across the GO for the U de Montréal COTC badges. All badges appear to be officers' badges and they are described as being bronze finish. GO 109 1933.

If you are interested in varieties, the UofT have versions with the flat "Imperial" crown as well as the more standard (and later) Tudor Crown. There are also different metals used for several badges; in my collection I have two quite different metals for U Montreal, UNB, Loyola, Queens, UWO, and Bishops.

I'd love to get one of those first style MacMasters . . .
