Some Yeomanry For Review

12 Attachment(s)
Hi All
Are any of these yeomanry badges ok?
Ayrshire Yeo - white metal, rear definition not the greatest but the lugs aren't footed.
Glamorgan Yeo - Nicely defined badge but no vent holes.
West Riding - Lambourne mark on slider but no vent holes and looks very new.
Norfolk Yeo - I think this is ok but is it a cap or a collar?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex
The Ayrshire Yeomanry is not good I'm afraid.
It's a copy from the anodised version.
The chin should be voided on the small 'of' badges.
There is however, a version of this badge in a yellowy metal on sliders that was sold in the PRI, this isn't one of those.

Thanks Chris, I thought it was probably a duff one because of the poor definition on the back.
Cheers,
Alex

All fakes sadly apart from the GvR monogram.

Thanks Luke. Do you know if the Norfolk is a cap or collar badge?

It’s certainly not a NY cap badge. Far to small.

Officers of the NY wore a different design of collar also.

As to what it is, small cypher badges are always problematic and a can of worms. I’ll leave it to someone who collects a unit using such cap or collar badges to comment as I cannot give anything other than uninformed speculation. Sorry.

Thanks.
