Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Maker's Mark?

I have a REME badge that has a mark on the slider. I don't recognize the maker if that is what it is? Or is it the original badge's owner?

Would it be something added afterwards like the soldiers name and number?

Looks like a locally made cast badge with a manufacturers mark including year of manufacture, but not one that I've seen before.

The first five letters look like RANGO could it mean Rangoon?

It might, but Rangoon was occupied by the Japanese until May 1945.

Could have been made just after the end of the war.
