Helmand Provincial Reconstruction Team TRF

A nice reasonably priced and quite scarce ebay win, probably as most people don't have a clue what/who the Helmand Provincial Reconstruction Team was.

The TRF came in 2 sizes and was Velcro backed, whilst not strictly a MOD issue item it was worn by the Royal Engineers on the arm of the MTP UBAC Shirt and MTP smock (as well as the rest of ISAF military) assigned to the PRT, I'm not quite sure where the funding came from to purchase them for the RE's, quite likely from the Squadron slush fund. Civilian members of the PRT generally (but not as a rule) wore the TRF on the front of the combat body armour.

Of course its a shame that a great deal of the effort undertaken and the physical work carried out by the PRT is now in the hands of the Taliban (as by some estimates is approximately a third of Afghanistan including a great deal of the very blood soaked Helmand province).
