Hi All,

I really need your help!
I have recently got into the hobby of metal detecting and wondered if you would be able to shed some light onto what I have found. I’ve spent hours trolling through internet sites etc and have exhausted all leads. I think it could be GEORGE V or a Jubilee badge but I’m unsure. The other “object” is a complete mystery, I know it’s made by Adie & Lovekin however I can’t find an example online. Any information you could pass on would be highly appreciated. Love learning about this history!

Hi

Your little silver brooch with the violin (cello?) on it is a Victorian (?) silver woman's brooch. It may be hallmarked and that could help you.

You've been clever enough to identify the maker so that might give you a bracket for dating it.

They would have been worn either at the throat on the high blouses worn at the period or maybe as a sweetheart badge would have been worn. I would venture to suggest that it is all hand-made.

Doh! Just seen the hallmark. Birmingham but I can't make out the date letter.

Makers mark :
The firm became Adie & Lovekin Ltd in 1889.
